BREEAM in a few words
The "British Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method" assesses the environmental performance of buildings and local authorities. The standard has three goals:
- To improve, measure and certify new neighbourhoods
- Guide their sustainable approach via a global strategic frameworkbal
- Provide high-quality, sustainable, dynamic, safe and environmentally-friendly construction
Jardins de l’Orne? A sustainable eco-energy neighbourhood
There's nothing quite like living in a modern, cost-effective and ecological building. The flats and houses of Jardins de l’Orne are the ones you've been dreaming of. How? They were designed by our architects and engineering companies and convincingly meet a number of related criteria:
- Remediation: all inert materials on the industrial site were reused after decontamination. All toxic waste was removed and processed in dedicated centres. This avoided over production of CO2 and limited the trips required to remove the waste and bring in new construction materials.
- Economic impact
- Demographic requirements
- Water resources

The result: the Jardins de l’Orne neighbourhood in Mont-Saint-Guibert received BREEAM certification with an "Excellent" rating. What could be better than living in the only Belgian neighbourhood with this rating?
